What is Cheer?
Cheerleading is a team sport which requires participants to learn cheerleading skills including dance, tumble, stunts, jumps, pyramids and motions. These skills are then put into a short routine performed to music.
Cheerleading supports the individuals development of gross motor skills, balance, co-ordination, body awareness and self-confidence whist gaining valuable social skills by participating in a team.
What else is involved?
Cheerleading is like a sister-hood/brother-hood and our new CHEER program now incorporates many similar elements to our Empowering Girls/Boys program with 15-20mins of each session dedicated to discussing important topics such as good nutrition, growth mindset, self confidence, resilience, friendships/bullying and problem solving!
When does it run?
Cheer runs all year round, ensuring that each of the children have ample time to learn new skills and routines while establishing strong relationships with our coaches and their peers.
Cheer runs for 8 weeks each term with 3 different sessions available to attend.
Mondays 3.15-4.15pm : 5-11 years
Mondays 4.15pm-5.15pm : 11-18 years
Fridays 3.15pm : 5 - 11 years ( Sensory Session*)
* Our sensory sessions are capped at 6 children per group ensuring each child receives a more personlised coaching experience, and run for a shorter period of 30-45mins depending on the participants.
What should the girls/boys wear?
Participants should ensure they attend wearing clothing comfortable enough that they can move freely. Shoes are optional.
The Cost Involved?
The cost for Cheer is $150 per term or $120 per term for sensory sessions.
This cost is inclusive of membership and insurance fees.
